Glow Boy Gander Pellet Stove Insert
Named after the snowiest town in Canada, and designed for its residents, the Glow Boy Gander Pellet Stove Insert generates powerful heat that is delivered to the room via a strong convection blower. Gander is a town in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador, where temperatures can dip to the -30s during the winter months.
Residents of the town can certainly make use of the Gander insert as it is capable of generating 16,800 to 42,000 BTUs per hour at its default setting. This, however, can be adjusted to produce 10,500 to 50,400 BTUs per hour for an even wider range of heat output. With this power, the stove can quickly and easily fill a room with an area of approximately 2,000 square feet with comfortable heat.
The top-loading hopper can accommodate 40 pounds of wood pellets, which, depending on the heat setting chosen, can burn from 6.6 to 32 hours. You can choose from five different heat settings, thus allowing you to set the stove to the most comfortable temperature level without unnecessarily wasting energy. On top of this, the stove also features three modes –manual, thermostat high/low, and thermostat on/off.
The wood pellets, which can either be super premium or standard grade, are delivered to the burn chamber where they are automatically set on fire by an electric hot air igniter.
Heat produced by the burning of wood pellets in the burn chamber is transferred via nine durable heat exchangers consisting of stainless steel tubes. It is then forced into the room by a convection blower with a transfer rate of 265 CFM. The blower has four settings that increase its power if there is a need to move heated air into the room.
