Capable of generating heat of up to 65,000 BTUs per hour, the Drolet Eco-65 Model DP00055 Pellet Heater can heat rooms measuring as large as 2,600 square feet. The stove is a freestanding pedestal heater colored metallic black that is versatile enough to burn a variety of pelletized fuels including those made of 100% bark and switch grass. Minimum heat output is 10,500 BTUs per hour.
The stove’s hopper has a capacity of 120 pounds. This allows it continue burning for up to 72 hours when set to a low heat adjustment. An auger pushes the pellets into the firebox where an electronic turbo igniter quickly sets them on fire.
The heat exchanger is designed to facilitate airflow between heated air and the air in the room. However, it incorporates features that minimize iar turbulence, thus reducing operating noise. A fan with the capacity to move air at 465 CFM further assists in circulating heated air inside the room.
For a precise heat level in the room, the Drolet Eco-65 offers six heat settings. You can further assure this by installing a compatible thermostat on the pellet stove. With an efficiency rating of 77.8%, purchasing the stove qualifies buyers for a tax credit of 10%.
A ceramic glass window enclosed in a cast iron frame and measuring approximately 14″ x 10″ provides a view of the flickering fire inside the firebox. The firebox itself has dimensions of 13″ W x 28″ H x 9″ D.
Ashes from the firebox fall into an ash drawer that is large enough not to need emptying for two weeks.
