Bixby Maxfire Corn and Pellet Stove

Bixby Maxfire Corn and Pellet Stove

Departing from the more common pellet stove designs, the front panel of the Bixby Maxfire Corn and Pellet Stove is rounded. The fire viewing glass window is likewise curved and so is the ash pan.

The Bixby stove’s difference from other pellet stoves goes beyond the surface. Instead of using an auger to move fuel from the hopper, it relies on a wheel fitted with a slot that picks up fuel when it is at the bottom and then dumps it into the burn pot when it is at the top. Equipped with Bixby’s proprietary MaxYield technology, air is forced into the burn pot in a strong vortex through its air holes. This increases oxygen and thus improves combustion. Indeed, combustion efficiency is rated at a 99.7%, which, in turn, results to as much as 70% savings on fuel costs.

Designed as a multi-fuel stove, the Bixby Maxfire can burn wood pellets as well as shelled corn and other biomass fuels. Once these are in the burn pot, they are kindled with a failsafe double igniter system. In case one of them fails to operate, the other will continue to function. You can even manually ignite the pellets with a propane torch.

Heat generated ranges from 8,000 BTUs to a maximum of 50,000 BTUs. At these levels, a room of about 2,200 square feet can quickly become warm and toasty. The stove is thermostat compatible allowing you to set your desired heat level.

Hopper capacity is 106 pounds, which results in a burn time of 57 hours. A built-in blower with a convection capacity of 275 CFM moves heated air into the room. To keep the flame clearly visible through the window, the stove incorporates a glass air wash system.

The Bixby Maxfire Corn and Pellet Stove has dimensions of 33″ H x 28″ W x 30″ D. It is available in six colors –black, blushtone, burgundy, hunter green, navy blue, and silver. You also have a choice between a nickel plated or 24K gold plated window trim.
